Our Key stage one pupils recently took part in the 'Miniature Garden Competition' at the Garden Show Ireland festival. All gardens had to had a nursery rhyme theme.
As we were trying to decide upon the nursery rhyme that our garden would be based upon, there were three young cows staring in through our classroom window from the neighbouring field. Determined that we wanted to wanted to include cows in our project, we researched nursery rhymes which featured cows. We had considered Little Boy Blue but were very excited by Dingle Dangle Scarecrow as we had recently planted seeds in the school garden and had discussed ways to protect them from animals and birds.
We drew the outline of the container and together decided what we would need to include within our project.
