Eco Club
This week was the first of our Eco Club meetings and we began by considering how to help an animal that is incredibly important to our environment, the hedgehog. We used materials from around the school to make a cozy winter home for a hedgehog, being mindful of the 3 'R's; Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We reused an old filing box found in a store for the house, created an entrance using two old glue bottles, lined the box with recycled newspaper and dried leaves and finally we made the box waterproof by using left over art materials.
We found a sheltered area of the school grounds to place the hedgehog house and used leaves, logs and twigs to camouflage it.
We had huge fun creating the hedgehog house and hope that it will be a safe, cozy home for a hedgehog this winter.
