A week of kindness in Keystage 1
To participate in Anti-bullying week, the children of Keystage 1 considered the powerful impact of 'one kind word'. We explored how one kind word can provide hope or change someone’s perspective. It can change their day, change the course of a conversation and break the cycle of bullying.
Each day we considered one word or phrase that although simple, if used can have a significant and long lasting impact upon ourselves and others. The pupils of Keystage 1 were able to reflect upon times when these simple phrases had helped them or when the use of these words may have lead to a more positive outcome.
On Thursday we took it a step further and took the opportunity to express a word of kindness to each of our class mates. These messages of affirmation had a huge impact on us all and helped us not only feel good about ourselves but valued as a member of the class.
